Alabama: Randy Owen
Randy Owen is the lead singer of Alabama, one of the most successful country bands ever. The group scored dozens of number-one hits, including “Mountain Music” and “Song of the South.” They sold over 75 million records and entered the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005.

He never left home. Owen was born in 1949 and grew up on a cotton farm on Lookout Mountain near Fort Payne. He started the band there with his cousins. Today he runs a cattle farm nearby and helps raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
